Sales Representative – ETV News Department – Price

The Sales Representative will primarily be responsible for generating revenue for ETV News through the sale of newspaper print ads, web advertisements and sponsorships for high school athletics and other special community events. The Sales Representative will handle all marketing inquiries with ETV News as well as classified ads and legal notices. The Sales Representative will be proactive, personable and able to build relationships with local businesses and community partners.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective advertisers, sponsors and community partners
  • Create sales strategies and goals to sell print and digital advertising packages to local businesses, organizations and agencies
  • Identify, pursue and secure sponsorships opportunities for high school athletics and clubs, community initiatives and special events.
  • Research and develop lists of potential customers and prepare customized advertising solutions to meet client needs
  • Follows-up on sales leads and makes cold calls on potential business customers
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of advertising agreements, sponsorship contracts, billing and client communications
  • Develops and delivers sales presentations in a professional and effective manner
  • Meet or exceeds monthly and yearly sales quotas
  • Collaborate with editorial and production team to ensure accurate and timely delivery of advertisements to sponsorship commitments
  • Conduct regular market research to identify new sales opportunities and stay informed on industry trends
  • This person will represent ETV News at community events, networking opportunities, and client meetings to strengthen relationships and promote services

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sales, advertising, business or related fields is preferred. Relevant related experience will also be considered.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Very organized with attention to detail in record keeping, billing and reporting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and basic advertising tools
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • This is a full-time position. The pay for this position will have a base plus commission (details provided upon hire). Benefits package available including health insurance, PTO and 401K.
